Handforged holdfasts. These are made from 5/8" round rod. They will fit into a 3/4" or 11/16" hole in your work bench. The normal height that I make are 14 inches, but I can make them to any length you might need, feel free to contact me for a custom length.
They have been left rough on the surface for maximum grip in the bench. Most commercially produced holdfasts these days are made from cast metal/iron. They tend to be very brittle and subject to cracking or breaking. I have made these from steel so that they flex just enough to keep from cracking. They can be struck with a hammer without fear of causing damage to the tool.

Item came quickly. They work like the ones I used to use in the museum for wood working. I like being able to easily use them with my mallet as I produce my own work. I will recommend them to other wood workers. Really great that they include 2! I included a photo of the holdfast in use. It works well with my 4" thick top workbench. Makes my work that much easier and the quality of my product better, so thank you!

Absolutely love my hand-forged holdfasts. The steel is more handleable than a traditional cast iron, and the rough natural texture is great - grips extremely well. Thanks for a great product!
